About The Role
Thiess is currently recruiting a Specialist Civil Scheduler based in our Office in Brisbane, located in Southbank working on our Eva Copper Mine Project.
This role is being offered as a max-term contract of 12-18months, providing a great opportunity to be part of an exciting new project!
Reporting to the Principal Civil Engineer, you will provide onsite construction engineering surveillance and management of subcontractors ensuring the safe execution of the Project.
Key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Prepare schedule data for proposal or contract negotiations
- Establishes and maintains the schedule for a specific discipline area or speciality
- Performs schedule development duties to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the workflow logic ties, and developing the required job expenditure
- Assists with maintenance of critical path schedule reports and schedule performance metrics
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to align timelines and resources.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Provide accurate forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis to stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and planning best practices.
- Develop timely and efficient planning input and analysis for other project reporting tools such as Power BI reports.
About You
- Proven experience (+5 years) in engineering planning and scheduling on bulk earthworks and infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of planning and project management methodologies.
- Background in large, multi-disciplinary engineering projects where milestone and dependency management are critical.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, project management, or a related field
- Strong personal computer skills including Primavera P6 and MS Office suite)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey project information to project stakeholders
- Organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, take direction, and provide direction to others to ensure the quality of deliverables
