About the role

Thiess is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join our high-performing maintenance team at Peak Downs Mine.

Working on an 8/6 roster and reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you’ll play a key role in supporting maintenance planning and scheduling across a diverse fleet of equipment — including HME, light vehicles, ancillary equipment, and infrastructure.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and manage maintenance schedules to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient servicing and repairs.
• Utilise the Maintenance Management System to plan maintenance and major component replacement forecasts.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure parts and materials are available as required.
• Monitor defect reporting and condition analysis systems to keep maintenance schedules accurate and up to date.
• Continuously seek cost efficiencies through alternative suppliers and improved maintenance planning.
• Contribute to short- and medium-term maintenance planning to maximise equipment availability and operational productivity.

About you

You are a proactive planner who thrives in a fast-paced mining environment and values teamwork, safety, and efficiency.

To be successful, you’ll have:

• Relevant Trade or Tertiary Qualifications.
• Demonstrated experience in fleet management and maintenance planning within the mining or heavy industry sectors.
• Proven knowledge of light vehicles, ancillary equipment, infrastructure, and heavy mobile equipment.
• Proficiency in computer-based maintenance systems (JDE) and Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel)
