What you’ll do
Reporting to the Survey Lead, Spatial Services, this position offers the chance to work on diverse projects, troubleshoot survey challenges, and contribute to continuous improvement in survey systems and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Australian projects (both existing and new establishment) with survey expertise, ensuring compliance with standards and statutory requirements.
- Provide short-term site secondments and leave coverage for mine surveyors.
- Develop and review survey operational guidelines, conduct audits, and identify improvements in data capture and spatial integration.
- Manage survey assets and assist with planning equipment replacements.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate survey tools and resources.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
We’re seeking a highly skilled survey professional with strong technical knowledge and leadership capability. The ideal candidate will have extensive mine surveying experience and the ability to work flexibly across multiple sites.
- Tertiary qualification in Surveying or equivalent, plus UAV Operators Certificate (Australia).
- Extensive experience in mine surveying, preferably in large-scale open-cut operations, with proficiency in Vulcan/Deswik, Maptek Point Studio, and photogrammetry techniques.
- RPAS certification with 100+ hours on multiple RPAS platforms; strong understanding of mining principles and regulatory requirements.
Unique Requirements: Travel and short-term site secondments are essential parts of this role.
