What you’ll do

As we support the global energy transition, we are growing our Asset Services & Decarbonisation capability - and we’re looking for a Project Specialist – TAS Projects to help deliver high‑impact initiatives across our Technology, Asset Services & Digital (TAS) portfolio.
Reporting to the Senior Specialist - Asset Decarbonisation, you will support and coordinate a diverse range of technology and innovation‑driven projects across Thiess’ TAS environment. You’ll apply structured project controls, provide clear reporting, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to plan.
Key focus areas include project controls, reporting and governance, stakeholder engagement, budgeting and cost control, and supporting business change initiatives across multiple regions and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery and coordination of TAS projects using agreed Thiess frameworks and methodologies
- Establish and maintain project controls including schedules, Gantt charts, risk and issue registers
- Monitor and report on project progress, budgets and key milestones
- Facilitate project and governance meetings, preparing materials, capturing actions and issuing outcomes
- Provide analysis, reports and presentations to senior leadership and governance forums
- Build strong relationships with project leads, stakeholders and service providers
- Contribute to change management and communication activities supporting project outcomes
What you’ll bring
You’re an organised and proactive project professional who thrives in complex environments. You bring strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
You will also bring:
- A degree in business, project management, engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in project coordination or project management roles
- Experience supporting technology, systems or business change projects
- Strong capability in budgeting, scheduling, risk and issue management
- Working knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. PMBOK, Agile, Prince2, Lean)
- Advanced skills across the Microsoft 365 suite and project management tools
