About the role

We are seeking an experienced Plumber, Infrastructure Tradesman to join our team at Olive Downs Complex in the Bowen Basin. 

Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres south-east of Moranbah which commenced mining operations in mid-2023. Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (Autonomous & Staffed), water management and rehabilitation as well as construction of the mine infrastructure. 

Working a 7/7 day shift roster and reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, your duties will include: 

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on plumbing systems and building infrastructure
  • Deliver high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair services across water, sewer, drainage, and facility assets
  • Support site operations through effective infrastructure upkeep, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with site teams
  • Work with key internal and external stakeholders to meet the project's targets in safety, environment and production
  • Undertake general site ground maintenance, including (but not limited to) structural roof leak repairs, door and passageway repairs, flooring repairs, and weed management

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a plumber, preferably with exposure to infrastructure, mining, or civil projects
  • At least 12 months experience as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Maintainer in the mining industry
  • Trade Qualification: Certificate III or IV in Plumbing (or recognised equivalent)
  • Licensing: Current Queensland Plumbing and Drainage Licence (or ability to obtain immediately) - essential
