About the role

As a Thiess Fire Services Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining fire suppression systems on our significant mining fleet in Queensland. These systems must always be in exceptional condition to protect our people and assets in the event of a machine fire. Your role will involve maintaining these systems to the highest standard while employing a cost-effective approach to maintenance activities. You will work across multiple sites, providing consistent quality work and building productive professional relationships with all site personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain fire suppression systems to the highest standard.
  • Work across multiple sites, providing consistent quality work.
  • Make recommendations for maintenance improvements.
  • Stay updated with technical and product changes.
  • Perform adhoc inspections and repairs during spare time on site.

 

About you

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Certificate 2 in Fire protection Inspection and Testing
  • A current driver’s licence (Standard 11 certification is desirable).
  • A proactive attitude toward safety and a commitment to fostering a positive safety culture.
  • Effective communication with suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and internal personnel.
  • Responsible operation of a Thiess vehicle on public roads.
