About the Role

We are seeking our next Autonomous Technician, reporting to the Autonomy & Technology Leading Hand. In this role, you will work as part of a team to deliver innovative and effective solutions.

This position is based at the Lake Vermont Coal Project, located in Dysart, North Queensland. The roster is 7/7 rotating day and night shifts, working 12.5-hour days.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Autonomous Operating Systems on our autonomous drills and semi-autonomous dozer fleet
  • Performing service and repairs on base machines
  • Responding to autonomous and network equipment breakdowns on site
  • Monitoring, positioning, and maintaining communication trailers
  • Accessing technical information via manuals, bulletins, OEM and computer systems
  • Working safely and in compliance with the Site Safety Health and Management System
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Carrying out inspections to maximise equipment availability

About You

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • A trade qualification in Heavy Mobile Plant, Electrical, Auto Electrical or as a Communication Technician
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in mining maintenance
  • A collaborative approach and ability to work independently
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
  • A strong safety-first mindset and proven track record of compliance
  • Desirable experience with:
    • Autonomous Haulage, Drill or Dozer systems
    • CAT Terrain
    • Mine 4D
    • Repeater trailer systems
