About the role

We are seeking an experienced CHPP Manager to oversee operations at our Lake Vermont project, located 19 km north of Dysart. This position offers a 5/2, 4/3 roster and reports directly to the Project Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of CHPP operations, ensuring optimal plant performance and coal quality. You will implement strategies for process optimisation and continuous improvement, manage a diverse team fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align CHPP objectives with overall project goals.

As a member of the site senior leadership team, key accountabilities includes:

  • Oversee the full spectrum of CHPP operations, ensuring optimal plant performance and coal quality
  • Implement strategies for process optimisation and continuous improvement.
  • Manage a diverse team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align CHPP objectives with overall project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
  • Interfacing regularly with aligned departments to optimise safety, maintenance and production efficiencies
  • Manage Projects and budgets to deadlines

About you

To be considered for this role you are required to have:

  • 2-3 years' experience in a similar role with extensive experience in an operational mining environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in coal processing, mechanical, or electrical disciplines
  • Ability to influence and implement strategic and cultural change
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects to budget and deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience managing risk within a mining or heavy industrial environment
  • Demonstrated experience with the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Have outstanding skills with the Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
