About the role
The Specialist Technical Training Developer will be responsible for create efficient and accurate technical training and assessment material in line with business requirements
In this role, you will:
- Participate in the performance management process using the Oracle process including the creation of information performance notes in the HCM system
- Understands what is expected in the role and strives to achieve performance expectations and agreed performance standards.
- Analyse and interpret national training standards from across Thiess' operational jurisdictions.
- Harvest information on training and assessment practices across Thiess operations and ensure best practices are captured within training and assessment documents.
- Assist projects in understanding the application of Thiess Certified Training and assessment materials
- Participate in learning and development opportunities, including courses, training and other approved events intended to expand personal and organisational knowledge base relevant to required functions and skills.
- Develop classroom curriculum, training packages and assessment materials.
- Provide advice on instructional/learning and curriculum improvements.
- Review training and assessment materials and make recommendations for improvements for approval by the global moderation team.
- Interface with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to determine training and assessment requirements and provide content advice.
- Support in digitize learning content for accessibility through online platforms and learning management systems.
- Engage with HSE, SME and operational efficiency teams across Thiess to ensure Thiess Certified Training and assessment materials are aligned with the business.
About you
- Vocational high school or diploma in technical with minimum 3 years' experience in training and development proven by certificate IV or equivalent
- Experience in training and delivery and assessment processes, mining experience is an advantage.
- Experience designing, reviewing and developing training and assessment resources following regional standards.
- Experience in implementing regional training standards to develop training packages.
- Ability to research internal and external safety and training information.
- Advanced computer literacy is required, including intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
- Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills in English.
- The ability to research regional legislation that applies within the mining and training industry.
- Ability to provide guidance and advice and influence where appropriate to achieve desired outcomes.
