About the role

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain efficient and accurate technical training and assessment materials that align with business requirements, incorporating best practices and training standards across Thiess' operational jurisdictions.
  • Participate in learning and development opportunities, including courses, training and other approved events intended to expand personal and organisational knowledge base relevant to required functions and skills.
  • Develop classroom curriculum, training packages and assessment materials.
  • Provide advice on instructional/learning and curriculum improvements.
  • Review training and assessment materials and make recommendations forimprovements for approval by the global moderation team
  • Develop new ideas to support the efficient use of the training and assessment process and content.
  • Provide input for company-wide training development.
  • Remove and update superseded documents from the Thiess Learning Management system.
  • Add approved documents in the Thiess Learning Management system.
  • Provide advice and guidance on the layout of the master document storage system (SharePoint)
  • Provide advice and guidance on the layout of documents in the Thiess Learning Management system.
  • Maintain change management spreadsheets for training resources (change history)
  • Establish and maintain minutes of moderation team meetings.
  • Establish and maintain a project schedule dashboard/ spreadsheet.
  • Develop and maintain an operational training resources improvement register.
  • Provide cross-regional support by adapting training materials for different regions.
  • Interface with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to determine training and assessment requirements and provide content advice.
  • Support in digitizing learning content for accessibility through online platforms and learning management systems.

About you

  • Degree from Vocational high school or diploma in technical with minimum 3 years' experience in training and development proven by certificate IV or equivalent
  • Experience in training and delivery and assessment processes, mining experience is an advantage.
  • Experience designing, reviewing and developing training and assessment resources following regional standards.
  • Experience in implementing regional training standards to develop training packages.
  • Ability to research internal and external safety and training information.
  • Advanced computer literacy is required, including intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
  • Effective time management skills Ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills in English.
  • The ability to manage conflict resolution and to demonstrate resilience.
  • The ability to research regional legislation that applies within the mining and training industry.
  • Flexibility to cope with change and deadlines.
  • Ability to provide guidance and advice and influence where appropriate to achieve desired outcomes.
