The role of Associate Director, Emerging Corporate predominantly focuses on businesses that are enabling industries and growing at a fast pace.  It involves a broad range of activities including supporting strategic planning, client relationship management, engagement with internal and external stakeholders, supporting origination and structuring of new transactions, creating, and maintaining a sustainable risk position in relation to the client set.

You’ll also collaborate with a variety of product specialist areas, Deal Structuring & Execution Team, Corporate and Business Bank to name but a few.

As the Associate Director you will

  • Personally, develop and manage a portfolio of key Emerging Corporate clients.
  • Identify new business and referral opportunities & establish, develop and utilise networks of internal and external contacts to aid achievement of income targets.
  • Assess economic value and risk potential of new business.
  • Maintain and enhance the credit risk profile and profitability of the portfolio.
  • Consult to both the broader Business & Private Bank business and Corporate & Institutional Banking team to assist with for the smooth transitioning of Emerging Corporate clients.
  • Sales - Implement specific local competitive and aggressive sales/ income campaigns and initiatives & sell and promote tailored Bank products and services within Bank parameters.
  • Implement annual business plans for the customer portfolio allocated.
  • Support the Deal Structuring & Execution team in the preparation of business lending proposals outside own authorities with full justification for recommendations, including obtaining and analysing industry and business information.

What you will bring

  • Strong prior demonstrated experience within business banking, corporate banking and/or similar related.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business and commercial practices with significant emphasis on business development, sales, lending, credit assessment and control experience.
  • Proven track record of quickly establishing and maintaining strong, positive working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders internally and externally.
  • A commitment to strong risk culture, conduct and compliance risk.
  • Experience and ability to engage, partner and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a highly regulated environment but also with a continuous improvement lens and comfortable with autonomy.
  • Business related degree and/or post-graduate professional qualification is preferred.
