Business Banker, Business Retention Unit

As a Business Retention Banker, you specialise in retaining customers across Business & Private Banking (B&PB), you will proactively and reactively engage customers, understand their needs, and provide them with holistic banking solutions.

The Business Retention Banker is responsible for effectively handling reactive and proactive retention enquiries and provide comprehensive advice to customers. You will conduct credit analysis and approve requests for increased limits up to your Delegated Commitment Authority (DCA).

In the role of Business Banker, Business Unit Retention, you will join the team that’s putting the customers at the centre of everything you do.

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:

  • Receiving inbound calls from customers and make proactive and reactive outbound calls to customers at risk of attrition
  • Understanding our customers’ needs to provide tailored holistic banking solutions. 
  • Build relationships with Business Partners to create and action retention opportunities.
  • Connect with customers across NAB’s Business & Private Bank to increase growth and focus on retention activities across existing portfolios.
  • Retaining existing customers by offering appropriate financial solutions that add value to their lives.
  • Action and manage Salesforce opportunities and national leads.
  • Provide coaching, lead actions and role model great behaviours across the broader business.

We’re looking for the brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:

  • Demonstrated Banking and Finance knowledge, particular focus in lending experience may include term /mortgage loan or asset-based finance)
  • Previous Retail or Business banking experience working with customers, uncovering their needs, and delivering on customer needs (Including credit support functions).
  • Previous strong customer phone-based experience is beneficial.
  • Strong record of accomplishment of meeting role-based targets.
  • Problem solving, critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills coupled with superior stakeholder management experience.
