Senior Legal Counsel, Regulatory Advisory Legal - Scams

In this role you will: 

  • Be primarily responsible for providing strategic and legal advice to NAB Group on the Scams Prevention Framework (SPF) to help protect our customers and our communities. 

  • Support key consultations on regulatory and legal change regarding the SPF.   

  • Proactively identify legal, regulatory and reputational risks arising from scams and the SPF. 

  • From time to time, provide legal advice and guidance in relation to other regulatory issues and engagements, supporting stakeholders across NAB on matters involving ASIC, APRA and the ACCC on a broad range of regulatory issues.  

  • Collaborate with other legal teams and supporting business units on strategic initiatives and ensure legal and compliance obligations are met. 

We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You will need: 

  • Tertiary qualified with a degree in Law 

  • Admitted to legal practice in Australia 

  • Minimum of 8 years PQE in a law firm or in-house legal team   

  • Experience in advising on financial products and services and financial services regulation will be highly regarded.  

  • Adaptable, willing to learn and comfortable operating in new and grey legal areas 

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and partnering approach 

  • Excellent organisational skills, including prioritisation and time management.
