Head of Audit - Credit Risk

As the Head of Audit, Credit Risk, you will lead the strategic execution of Audit’s assurance to senior stakeholders and the Board, to deliver insights that supports strong Credit Risk Management at NAB.

As a Head of, you will join the Internal Audit team that is focused on winning together.

In this Head of role, you will:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry peers, global counterparts and internal stakeholders to maintain knowledge of emerging risks and best practice.
  • Develop a forward-looking Credit Risk audit plan and oversee the execution of the plan.
  • Represent Audit in first line risk forums/committees.
  • Contribute to strategic assurance initiatives to ensure Audit is delivering assurance that is best in market, integrating AI, automation, data analytics, and continuous monitoring to deliver scalable, risk-focused audits.
  • Lead, coach and mentor the portfolio audit team, foster technical capability development, innovation, and a high-performance culture.
  • Provision of Credit Risk audit insights and advice to Audit Executives, Senior Management through to the Board Risk and Board Audit committees.

What you will bring

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey expectations and influence improved outcomes.
  • Extensive credit risk modelling, decisioning skills/experience.
  • Assurance and/or Risk management capability.
  • Proven track record in managing high performing teams and managing complex change.
  • Significant breadth of leadership, technical and influencing experience.
  • Experienced SME professional with tertiary education and post tertiary qualifications.
