About the Role
The Analyst, Investment Funds Research – Private Markets plays a key role in delivering the Chief Investment Office’s (CIOO) Investment Funds Research – Private Markets strategy, supporting the continued development and maintenance of private market investment opportunities across Private Wealth, including JBWere.
Reporting to the Head of Investment Funds Research (Private), this role contributes to high‑quality research, analysis, and insights that support adviser and client investment decision‑making. The CIOO function delivers research and perspectives across a broad range of Private Wealth clients and is central to the firm’s client value proposition.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity based at 405 Bourke St,Melbourne.
Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:
- Support the investment and manager selection process through the identification, assessment, and ongoing monitoring of private market investment opportunities
- Assist in the production of high‑quality investment research and insights on identified private market strategies
- Preparing written research reports, investment recommendations, and presentations for Private Wealth advisers and clients
- Producing ongoing performance, risk, and qualitative reporting for strategies on JBWere’s Approved Product List
- Clearly communicating investment views, recommendations, and updates to advisers and internal stakeholders
- Supporting the uplift and continuous improvement of the CIO Office’s Investment Funds Research – Private Markets framework, including adviser‑ and client‑facing collateral
- Contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the Private Markets research offering across the Private Wealth business unit
We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:
- 3–5 years’ experience in a finance or investment‑related role, ideally with exposure to private market investments and/or multi‑asset manager selection
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess investment strategies, managers, and structures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to produce clear, high‑quality reports and presentations
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
- A high level of attention to detail and a proactive, self‑starter mindset
- A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Commerce, or a related discipline
