We are seeking a Product Owner with a proven track record in delivering large-scale AI projects. This role involves leading the design, delivery, and ongoing performance of AI capabilities for Financial Crime Operations (FCO) within Technology and Enterprise Operations!!!!

As a Product Owner (AI), you will be joining Financial Crime Operations (FCO) in Technology and Enterprise Operations, that’s doubling down on customer obsession.
Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:
- Own the roadmap for AI in FCO from discovery to scaled roll‑out, linked to NAB’s AML/CTF Program and risk priorities.
- Ship high‑impact use cases: Investigator assistant grounded in NAB procedures & AUSTRAC guidance, alert triage and queue optimisation, case summarisation, SMR drafting support with QA gates, entity resolution, adverse‑media classification, evidence‑pack automation, and Travel Rule checks.
- Design guardrails with explainability and audit trails; define playbooks consistent service resilience and security controls.
- Stand up evaluation & monitoring: golden datasets, offline/online tests, hallucination & safety tests, bias/drift monitoring, latency/cost dashboards; maintain model/agent inventory and documentation.
- Work across Line 1/2/3 to agree guardrails, secure data access/lineage and prepare regulator‑ready artefacts, support AUSTRAC engagements, assurance, and audits.
- Drive adoption through co‑design, training, playbooks and feedback loops; convert frontline insights into backlog priorities and measurable change.
- Monitor product performance: Define and monitor KPIs to measure product effectiveness, ensuring alignment with risk management and customer obsession goals.
What you will bring:
- 5+ years in product delivery, operations transformation or analytics; 3+ years implementing AI at scale in large enterprises (ideally an Australian bank).
- Delivered GenAI/Agentic AI for investigations/casework with measurable impact (cycle‑time, QA uplift, adoption, precision/recall).
- Operated live AI controls: monitored hallucination & drift, managed incidents and post‑release improvements.
- Partnered with Line 2/Internal Audit; prepared regulator‑ready documentation and participated in AUSTRAC/audit reviews.
- Knowledge in AML/CTF Act & Rules, AUSTRAC reporting (SMR, IFTI‑I/E, TTR), Travel Rule, DFAT Consolidated List, Privacy Act 1988 (APPs), records retention and audit expectations.
