Senior Consultant - Governance, Risk and Compliance, RPWR Portfolio Execution

In the role Senior Consultant - Governance, Risk and Compliance, RPWR Portfolio Execution, you will join the People & Culture Team reporting to the Head of Portfolio Execution, RPWR.

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:

  • Be responsible in leading the strategic rollout for risk and compliance uplift for a large and visible team within the bank.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across RPWR, P&C and broader NAB stakeholders (IT, Operations, Risk etc.) building trust through clear communication, action-orientated delivery, analytical problem-solving and data-backed decision-making.
  • Be accountable to Senior Leaders and Executives within P&C through clear, concise and impactful reporting, as you uplift risk and compliance capabilities across teams.
  • Provide SME Risk and Compliance guidance to colleagues in the Division across a number of large-scale project deliverables and transformation.
  • Bring a hybrid skillset that is adaptable to change, a curious mindset that thrives in ambiguous environments and a focus on pragmatic, risk-based approaches to getting things done.

We’re looking for the brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:

  • 10+ years' experience working in a risk management, compliance and governance discipline (across Lines 1 and 2)
  • 7+ years’ experience in Financial Services, Banking and/or Consulting in a project delivery, transformation or other execution capability.
  • Self-starter who excels in navigating complexity, demonstrating high levels of agility and resilience in an often highly ambiguous environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise within at least two or more of the following delivery skillsets:
  • Obligations, risks and controls reviews
  • Project management
  • Process design and documentation
  • Extensive experience in managing relationships with senior stakeholders, business leaders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Practical knowledge of risk management frameworks and systems (in particular, GRACE/Archer) and the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks within portfolio delivery.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities across the portfolio and experience in escalating where necessary to ensure delivery of portfolio initiatives are met.
  • Hands-on experience leading or supporting change management initiatives within large organisations, driving successful adoption of new processes or systems.
  • Experience in People & Culture (P&C) processes, systems and capabilities such as Industrial Relations, Employee Relations, Payroll, Health, Safety & Wellbeing etc. will be highly regarded.

Please note: this is a parental leave cover for 12 months starting in approximately March 2026.
