Director Treasury
Join NAB’s Treasury External Reporting team that reviews Treasury-related reporting to APRA on regulatory capital, liquidity, interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB) and operational risk risk-weighted assets, to the market via the Pillar 3 report, and to an external rating agency.
- Work with talented Finance and Treasury leaders and colleagues.
- Lead the delivery of some of Group Treasury's external reporting obligations in accordance with regulatory and other requirements.
- Challenge both the end-to-end process from which external reporting is created, as well as the reports themselves.

As a Director, you will join NAB’s Treasury External Reporting team that’s focused on keeping it simple.
In this Director role, you will
- Coordinate and challenge of the content of the Group’s quarterly Pillar 3 report and IRRBB regulatory returns. A significant focus in challenge of the Pillar 3 report is credit risk information which is of market interest and a key aspect of the Group’s capital ratios.
- Lead and manage any change requirements, such as those resulting from data, systems, regulatory or industry changes.
- Maintain professional scepticism when reviewing reporting. One review method employed is to sense check and reconcile amounts between different types of reporting.
- Uplift the quality of reporting through remediation of known issues and challenge the status quo, identify different ways of doing things, and decide on areas of uplift that are achievable.
- Train, support and motivate colleagues in the Treasury External Reporting team. The role involves assigning work for two associate directors and two other junior colleagues, whilst also managing your own deliverables.
Your Capabilities, Experience & Qualifications will include:
- Ability to review information, and question whether it is fit for reporting externally.
- Ability to interpret reporting requirements, in particular where instructions are unclear and an appropriate approach needs to be determined.
- Strong report writing skills, including the ability to summarise information in a concise manner for senior management.
- Proficiency in extracting and analysing data.
- Ability to work together with, and influence internal stakeholders (Finance, Risk, Technology functions) to drive an improvement in the quality of external reporting.
- Ability to prioritise issues and manage time to ensure deliverables are completed in time to meet various reporting deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, actuarial science or mathematics, and strong knowledge of banking products, including derivatives and repurchase agreements, would be beneficial.
