Technology is a core part of ubank, and the Technology Legal team at NAB is looking for a skilled Senior Legal Counsel to focus on ubank work and become part of both the Technology Legal and ubank teams.
You will give useful, business-focused, and strategic advice on legal issues that affect Ubank’s technology strategy and implementation, as well as working on making NAB and ubank systems and processes more agile, innovative and able to deliver market-leading experiences to customers.
We are looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:
- Lead negotiation of technology agreements, including major cloud agreements
- Providing strategic legal advice in relation to interpretation of contracts and disputes.
- Support simplification and process improvement initiatives in ubank and in legal, including AI and our offshore workforce.

- Admission to practice law in Australia, with a minimum of 7 years PQE achieved at a major law firm, relevant in-house role or some combination thereof
- Ability to form strong relationships with, and become an integral part of, the ubank team, and the Technology Legal team
- Proven experience providing strategic legal advice in relation to technology legal issues, interpretation of contracts and disputes
- Effective communication skills to engage and influence across all levels and a variety of technical and business stakeholders
- Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and independently manage workload, negotiations and drafting
- Excellent organisational skills, including prioritisation and time management.
