Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:
- delivering accurate, commercially relevant, timely, and strategic legal advice on complex areas of the law (both contentious and non-contentious) often on a cross border basis.
- advising on and facilitating a variety of transactions and projects at a strategic level, including, where appropriate, reviewing legal documentation to ensure legal compliance, management of legal risks and reduce the potential for legal claims.
- engage, monitor and supervise external legal advisers, manage external and internal legal adviser relationships, facilitate communication between external legal advisers with internal NAB stakeholders.
- identify process improvements/efficiencies, evaluate performance and contain/monitor legal costs.
- support the General Counsel, C&IB on all material matters on a timely basis, including those involving reputation and operational risk exposures.
- In-house trusted advisor to relevant business and risk teams.
- Undertake regular post qualification training to maintain sound understanding of current legal developments affecting the NAB Businesses; particularly in relation to laws and regulations impacting businesses in the Asia region.
We are looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for the customers. You’ll need:
You are an experienced lawyer who thrives on legal excellence and professionalism in actively managing legal risk in line with commercial and strategic priorities.
- Qualified solicitor with at least 10 years’ experience in a leading legal practice or experience in the legal department of a major bank or corporation.
- Experience must include working for businesses based in the Asia.
- Proven ability and openness to provide support across a diverse range of legal work required to support our NAB Asia businesses from time to time.
