Head of Balance Sheet Management

As the Head of Balance Sheet Management, you will join NAB’s Treasury team that’s focused on owning the solution, winning together and delivering for our customers.

In this Head of role, you will

  • Lead a team of 7/8 individuals to develop and implement the Group Funding Strategy, including balance sheet forecasting and scenario analysis and deposit appetite and pricing (above threshold).
  • Develop, deploy and maintain NAB Ltd's Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) framework.
  • Be accountable for certain obligations within APS210 Liquidity and deliver on regulatory change agenda, as it pertains to balance sheet management.
  • Identify when specific intervention or escalation is required and be able to raise with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely delivery/or to improve business impact.
  • Engage with key stakeholders representing Treasury and NAB on Balance Sheet and FTP matters, including Risk & Performance Committees, Regulators and Investors.
  • Proactively respond to balance sheet issues and risks raised, including optimisation opportunities, new product development and inorganic growth opportunities.
  • Lead outside of their direct team to deliver best outcomes for the bank, including developing people and ensuring collaboration across silos.
  • Manage operational risk associated with key responsibilities and engagements.

Your Capabilities, Experience & Qualifications will include:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey expectations and deliver improved outcomes.
  • Significant breadth of leadership, stakeholder management and influencing experience.
  • Ability to engage at Board and management level, with customers and investors and also within team.
  • Substantial years of experience across Treasury, Markets and/or Corporate Finance disciplines.
  • Experience leading engaged, collaborative and effective teams.
  • Speak-up mindset with willingness to challenge the status quo, innovate new pathways and escalate issues, as required.
  • Previous Treasury experience in a financial institution preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree qualified with CFA, Master of Finance, CA, CPA or AFMA preferred.
