Senior Business Banking Manager (Sydney CBD)

  • We are empowered to make a positive difference for customers and communities.
  • Everyone is given the opportunity to learn, grow and achieve.
  • Permanent role based in Sydney CBD

Our people are customer obsessed. They prioritise the needs and satisfaction of the customer above all else.  Our mindset fosters innovation and creates strong, lasting customer relationships as we strive to be the most customer centric company in Australia and New Zealand.

In the role of Senior Business Banking Manager, you will join the Commercial Real Estate team that’s doubling down on customer obsession.

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:

  • Drive strong business origination with a focus on CRE opportunities, proactively identifying and developing new lending and investment propositions through market insights and networks.
  • Manage and grow a diversified CRE‑aligned business portfolio, building long‑term customer relationships and delivering tailored financial solutions that support commercial asset performance.
  • Assess economic value, cashflow strength and risk potential of new CRE‑related transactions, preparing high‑quality lending proposals with associate team support.
  • Provide expert guidance to customers on CRE market trends, asset strategies, annual business plans, and growth opportunities, ensuring advice reflects both risk and return considerations.
  • Collaborate closely with internal specialists across valuation, credit, and structuring to deliver holistic solutions that optimise outcomes for CRE customers and the broader business portfolio.

We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:

  • Demonstrated experience in business banking and/or credit assessment, with applied expertise in Commercial Real Estate lending, cashflow analysis and asset‑backed transaction structures.
  • Deep understanding of commercial practices, with strong capability across sales, lending and credit—particularly in assessing CRE security, tenancy profiles, serviceability and long‑term portfolio value.
  • Proven ability to quickly build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with internal specialists, external partners and CRE‑focused customers across diverse markets.
  • Strong commitment to risk culture, conduct and compliance, with disciplined application of CRE credit standards, valuation principles and proprietary lending frameworks.
  • Business‑related degree and/or postgraduate qualifications preferred, ideally supported by exposure to CRE markets, investment drivers or property‑focused financial analysis.
