Associate Director, Specialised Finance (Commodities)

In the role of Associate Director, you will join Specialised Finance (Commodities)team that’s doubling down on moving with speed and winning together.

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:

  • Support the execution of Project Finance, Acquisition Finance and Structured Commodities Finance transactions across the Metals and Mining, Industrial chemicals, Gas and Future Fuels segments
  • Work closely with the team to help deliver high quality financial analysis, credit papers and supporting transaction materials
  • Support transaction documentation and negotiation
  • Meet all policy and compliance requirements; perform controls; adhere to Process and Procedures pertinent to role; and escalate events, issues or breaches as they are identified
  • Coach, monitor, supervise Analysts/Associates to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their role and to be compliant with internal policies and procedures
  • Contribute to early‑stage opportunity assessment through market insights and client research
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, advisers and syndicate partners
  • Maintain strong awareness of commodities markets, trends and emerging risks
  • Provide insights that support portfolio growth, product development and improved execution.

What You'll Bring We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:

  • Strong analytical capability with experience in financial modelling, credit analysis, or transaction execution.
  • A strong commercial mindset with the ability to solve problems and think strategically.
  • Desire to grow into a leadership role within the team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different stakeholders to deliver on strategic initiatives
  • Proven experience of being an effective team player and helping to build a strong excellence culture
  • To demonstrate deep understanding of institutional banking, project and structured financing
  • Experience across commodities is not essential, but highly regarded
  • Tertiary qualification in finance or any business-related discipline preferred
