As the Senior Consultant Industrial Relations, 12 month fixed term contract opportunity, you will be part of the People & Culture team, that’s doubling down on customer obsession.
Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:
- Support NAB's industrial relations strategy which aligns to and delivers on NAB's Strategic Ambition and meets our legislative obligations whilst fostering trust and respect with our colleagues, customers and community.
- Provide strategic and tactical advice to business leaders and People & Culture colleagues on industrial relations risk, risk mitigation, legislative compliance and opportunities.
- Engage regularly with Finance Sector Union (FSU) officials, employees and members through consultation and works to actively resolve issues.
- Be actively involved in monitoring compliance, identifying gaps, and establishing robust solutions to minimise non-compliance risk.
- Maintain current technical IR knowledge and contribute to the development of submissions to external enquiries and reviews in the industrial relations environment.
We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:
- Demonstrated experience as a seasoned IR professional with proven specialist experience in advising on the practical application of industrial instruments and relevant laws.
- Experience in managing the investigation and resolution of difficult, complex or high-profile IR issues within the business.
- Demonstrated experience with engaging Unions and minimising disputation.
- Proven experience in enterprise bargaining particularly in a unionised environment and in a context of large employee cohorts.
- Solid understanding of the pay system environment (Human Resources Information Systems, payroll systems, award interpretation and time & attendance systems) and the challenges of implementing industrial terms accurately into systems and associated processes.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills coupled with superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to build and leverage strategic relationships with key stakeholders to implement changes and initiatives that support organisational outcomes.
