Senior Analyst Engineer to lead development of our mobile app suite, including flagship Mobile Banking and NAB Connect apps

As Senior Analyst Engineer, you will join the Digital Payment Hub team who are doubling down on moving with speed deliver this service to our customers.

The successful candidate will have solid experience in mobile app development, be able to mentor junior developers, and apply an operations-focused approach to building secure, reliable, and maintainable applications.

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to: 

• Partner with BAs and UX designers to clarify requirements and provide technical input early.
• Collaborate with Principal Engineers to shape feature and application designs.
• Contribute across the full software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and participate actively in agile ceremonies.
• Mentor and coach engineers to build capability and broaden skills across the team.
• Continuously improve engineering processes, practices, and tooling.
• Conduct code reviews and deliver timely, constructive feedback.
• Design and build mobile applications and supporting microservices.
• Apply a quality-first mindset, ensuring robust applications and strong code coverage.
• Share knowledge through ongoing technical uplift, including internal presentations and external community involvement.

 We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver for our customers. You’ll need:  

• Extensive experience developing and maintaining Android applications using Kotlin and Java
• Strong knowledge of modern Android architecture, including MVVM, Clean Architecture, modularisation, and dependency injection (Dagger/Hilt, Jetpack)
• Proven ability to integrate REST APIs, GraphQL, and microservice‑based backends, with a focus on quality and security
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code quality tooling (Gradle, Jenkins, JUnit, SonarQube, Artifactory)
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and lead by example in high‑performing teams
