Associate Director Divisional Controls
- Providing specialist first line risk and control advice to the PB COO sub-division
- This will include partnering with PB COO, and occasionally PB more broadly, to provide day to day risk and control support
- The role will also require project management and process, controls analysis skills to uplift the risk and control environment in PB
- Utilise your analytical and stakeholder engagement skills daily

As the Associate Director Divisional Controls, you will support the Risk and Controls team within Personal Banking, putting the customers at the centre of everything you do.
First Line Risk is a common point of expertise, providing first line controls, compliance and risk assurance to the management teams within their aligned business. In this role you will be responsible for working proactively in a first line Risk and Controls team supporting the Personal Banking business in its execution of risk management accountabilities.
Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:
- Advise the business with regards to risk management policies, practices and standards for application and educate and advise on their implementation.
- Assist the business to design and monitor robust controls
- Enable a professional and consistent approach to achieving business objectives throughout the organisation.
- Lead projects to design systems and processes that are compliant by design to assist in the identification, mitigation, and reporting of risk, and monitor the efficiency of the systems and their application.
- Provide a consultancy and education service in risk management to enable the business to identify risk and successfully implement programs to manage unacceptable risk.
- Working with the business to implement systems and controls to mitigate risks and manage operational risk and compliance policies which apply to the business
- Risk profiling and compliance management: assisting to identify key risks and design of indicators to monitor, input into Divisional Risk Setting Statements as relevant
- Helping to create the monthly and ad-hoc risk reports required for management to oversee risk within the business
- Assess proposed changes for risks and impacts on customers and regulatory obligations
- Assess business issues to determine if events and remediation is required
- Review processes and document As-Is and To-Be, to ensure control opportunities are identified, particularly opportunities to build automated controls
We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:
- Strong demonstrated experience in Operational Risk management and Compliance disciplines preferred, with previous experience in Divisional Controls (highly regarded) and first line risk roles, gained from either in a consulting firm, in-house with large corporate or equivalent environment.
- Ability to manage deliverables and drive completion dates from internal services and stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, influencing and negotiating abilities and time management.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail to be able to review and extract relevant risk-based assessment.
- Possess strong presentation and facilitation skills. Effective communication skills with the ability to synthetise data and communicate findings in a meaningful way.
- Previous experience in Personal Banking products will be highly regarded.
- Project transformation experience will be highly regarded.
- Process analysis experience and automated control design experience highly regarded
