Associate Director, Divisional Controls Financial Crime and Fraud Reforms

As Associate Director, Divisional Controls, you will play a pivotal role in shaping NAB’s approach to Fraud and Financial Crime, working closely with senior leaders to safeguard our customers and reputation. 

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to: 

  • Provide Divisional Controls advice on control design and implementation for the Scams Prevention Framework and AML/CTF reform initiatives 

  • Review and challenge implementation plans, process changes, and control coverage to ensure obligations are appropriately met 

  • Identify gaps in control design, operating models, and process flows across Fraud Operations and the broader end-to-end value chain, and support the business to address these gaps 

  • Ensure risks, issues and control gaps are identified early in the change lifecycle to minimise rework and downstream impacts 

  • Provide risk advice to support appropriate identification, escalation, and management of risks arising from regulatory change, particularly in relation to the Scams Prevention Framework 

  • Support the transition of controls from design into effective BAU operation and ongoing control effectiveness 

  • Contribute to improved regulatory compliance outcomes and reduction in control weaknesses arising from new obligations 

  • Assist the business to identify opportunities to use AI and support the business in implementing data-driven solutions to enhance risk controls and support proactive fraud and financial crime prevention. 

We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need: 

  • Extensive experience in first line risk, control design, or regulatory change delivery 

  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation or regulatory uplift programs  

  • Ability to manage and deliver own work caseload independently 

  • Strong ability to assess control design and identify gaps in processes and frameworks 

  • Ability to understand complex change initiatives and evaluate risk impacts 

  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to identify emerging risks and issues 

  • Ability to apply relevant Frameworks, Policies, Procedures and Guidance 

  • Strong senior stakeholder engagement and influencing capability 

  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate a proactive mindset.
