Associate Director, Risk Skills Instructional Designer

As the Associate Director, you’ll join the Risk Frameworks & Policy team, helping bankers and risk teams confidently translate policy into consistent and effective frontline practice.   

You’ll make an impact by:  

  • Designing and delivering risk capability, accreditation and professional development solutions that strengthen the application of NAB's risk frameworks, policies and standards. 

  • Translating risk, credit and regulatory requirements into practical learning experiences that drive consistent frontline decision-making. 

  • Leading the design of end-to-end capability solutions, including curricula, assessments, accreditation pathways and capability uplift initiatives. 

  • Partnering with senior stakeholders, subject matter experts and business leaders to identify capability needs and deliver targeted development outcomes. 

  • Supporting enterprise capability programs that enhance risk culture, improve compliance outcomes and build organisational capability maturity. 

  • Applying governance and quality standards to ensure learning solutions remain accurate, effective and aligned to policy intent. 

  • Using feedback, insights and capability data to continuously improve learning effectiveness, accreditation outcomes and colleague experience. 

You’ll bring to this role: 

  • Proven experience in learning design, capability development, accreditation or training delivery within financial services or another highly regulated environment. 

  • Demonstrated ability to translate policy, risk or regulatory requirements into practical capability and learning solutions. 

  • Experience designing and implementing structured accreditation, assessment or professional development programs. 

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across risk, business and support functions. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences. 

  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes at pace. 

  • A passion for continuous improvement and improving capability through practical, sustainable solutions. 

Highly regarded: 

  • Qualifications in Education, Learning Design, Instructional Design or a related discipline. 

  • Experience within Risk, Credit, Compliance or Regulatory Change functions. 

  • Familiarity with accreditation frameworks, capability diagnostics or continuing professional development (CPD) programs. 

  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms, including learning administration, reporting, learner analytics and capability tracking
