The role
As the Head of Technology, International Payments, Trade & Working Capital , you will be responsible for:
Provide technical leadership for the international payments, trade finance & working capital subdomains, accountable for efficient delivery of quality software (EPICS, Features and Stories)
Ensure the mission critical IT assets supporting the international payments, trade finance & working capital sub-domains are operating efficiently and reliably in Production, are within enterprise risk tolerances and adhere to the Groups Critical Hygiene Framework
Ensure legal, regulatory, and payments scheme compliance obligations are met, all the time every time
Relentlessly drive productivity & continuous improvement in all aspects of the technology business
Manage within given annual financial envelopes – technology operational budgets and change costs in the investment slate
Provide support to the Executive owning requests, initiatives or other accountabilities that are relevant to BU’s and/or the Enterprise
Lead, coach & mentor technology staff to drive engagement, improved outcomes, retention as well as uplifting skills & knowledge – includes both onshore in Australia and offshore teams.
Support strategic direction setting, ensuring technology direction is aligned to architectural roadmaps and the objectives/priorities of the Business and the Group overall.
Drive the implementation of the TBEP workforce strategy – leveraging NAB innovation centres in India & Vietnam
Drive the modernisation of the technology estate
The day to day responsibilities will include:
Drive technical delivery with a focus on improving speed, cost, and quality outcomes
Drive alignment of sub-domain software delivery to business and architectural roadmaps
Be the escalation point for incidents and problems across key services in the portfolio
Lead the execution of the business unit workforce strategy
Drive technology workforce planning for the subdomain
Work with subdomain lead in business to provide inputs into quarterly planning
Monitor subdomain delivery performance metrics and support with uplift interventions where required
What you will bring:
Demonstrable experience as a senior Payments Technology Leader with extensive experience in changing & operating mission critical systems for a systemic Bank
Proven Swift scheme, and /or High Value Clearing scheme (HVCS) experience
Experience building, migrating, & managing applications on the cloud
Leading annualized delivery portfolio > $50m
Demonstrated experience in building and leading cross-skilled teams ~100 - 150 staff located across multiple regions
Proven experience in vendor management
Strong understanding of technology & software engineering and an awareness of global technology trends
Experience leading large portfolio delivery in an agile environment
Strong operational process understanding
Ability to influence stakeholders across multiple technology topologies
Strong communication both written and verbal coupled with a strategic mindset and business acumen
Tertiary qualification(s) in a related discipline such as Information Technology and preferably a post-graduate qualification.
