About the Role 
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced policy manager to make a significant impact on academic excellence. You will lead the Academic Programs Policy and Governance team, overseeing processes that ensure our courses are of the highest quality, compliant, and aligned with strategic objectives. Working closely with the Deputy Dean, Education and other senior staff, you will drive policy implementation, provide expert advice, and manage governance activities with a focus on continuous improvement of the student experience. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Integrate strategic goals into policy development, implementation and review related to academic programs. 
  • Oversee development and approval of MDHS Online Education Offering. 
  • Oversee annual course/subject approval processes, ensuring adherence to standards. 
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Academic Programs team. 
  • Advise on curriculum design, collaborating with stakeholders across the University. 
  • Support academic program committees, drafting policy documents and driving governance best practices.  

Who We Are Looking For 
You are an experienced policy professional with a background in tertiary education administration. Your strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups are complemented by excellent written communication abilities. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes. 

You will also have: 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in governance and policymaking. 
  • Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring  staff. 
  • Expertise in project management and driving strategic initiatives. 
  • Highly developed analytical and reporting skills. 
  • Knowledge of the University's systems and processes is desirable.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
