Salary: Academic Level B – $119,231 - $141,581 p.a. (pro rata for part-time) plus 17% super, plus a clinical loading $13,494 p.a. pro rata for dentally qualified academics.

About the Role
The Lecturer in Endodontics is an education-focused role providing academic and clinical leadership in endodontic training at the Melbourne Dental School. This position involves developing and delivering course materials, supervising students in both theoretical and clinical settings, and supporting person-centred, evidence-based dentistry. The successful candidate will also oversee academic and clinical colleagues, contributing to curriculum development and strategic initiatives, and must hold specialist qualifications in Endodontics with eligibility for national registration through AHPRA.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching in clinical degree programs, supporting subject coordinators and component convenors to ensure alignment with the program curriculum and related coursework.
- Prepare and delivery lectures, tutorials, seminars, simulation, and other learning activities, including the development of digital assets for learning and teaching.
- Contribute to high quality curriculum development, evaluation, and review.
- Contribution to and engagement in the assessment process and provision of student feedback in line with DDS assessment’s philosophy.
Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to engage effectively with diverse students and patients. They will be highly motivated, adaptable, and collaborative, demonstrating a commitment to evidence-based clinical practice, ongoing professional development, and excellence in teaching within a team-oriented environment.
You will also have:
- Specialist qualifications in Endodontics registrable with the Dental Practice Board of Australia or a qualified dentist with a special interest in Endodontics
- A primary dental qualification registrable with the Dental Board of Australia and current AHPRA registration (no previous or current AHPRA conditions).
- A minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience a diversity of experience.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse students and patients.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
