About the Role
Are you a seasoned professional ready to step into the role of Associate Director, Operations? Join our team at MDHS Advancement, where you will provide leadership and support across various facets, including planning, reporting, HR, IT, finance, and business partnerships. Collaborating across cluster and shared services teams, you will ensure consistent service delivery for the faculty's Advancement program.

We are seeking a strategic thinker, capable of working with a high level of autonomy with the ability to streamline processes to facilitate a high-performing team. Your strong relationship management and collaboration skills will be pivotal as you navigate high-level internal and external relationships, with the ability to form a close and trusted working relationship with key internal stakeholders across the University.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Work with the Director Advancement (MDHS) to support and deliver team planning, ensuring alignment across Advancement, the faculty and with key business partners (e.g Communications and Marketing)
  • Lead the delivery of timely, accurate and well-crafted internal reports as required (e.g. monthly faculty and Advancement reports, quarterly target reports, year-end summary reports)
  • Lead and manage accurate and timely budget reconciliation across teams
  • Develop protocols and tracking for team staff development
  • Effectively manage recruitment and onboarding to ensure a positive experience for all stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with other staff across cluster and shared services teams, to ensure consistent, well-coordinated service delivery of the Advancement program for the faculty
  • Support the implementation and compliance process for major gifts to the faculty
  • Deputise for the Director, Advancement (MDHS) as required

Who We Are Looking For
Our ideal applicant brings a wealth of experience in providing team management and program leadership within the context of a large, complex organisation. You excel at navigating ambiguity to drive positive outcomes and advance organisational objectives, while promoting a positive and collaborative team culture.

You demonstrate strong business acumen, with experience in budget management, reporting and negotiation, exhibiting drive and initiative to ensure effective idea implementation amidst competing tasks and deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, enabling effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds. 

You will also have:

  • A post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant extensive experience and education/training
  • Extensive experience managing teams and leading integrated programs within a large and complex organisation, navigating
    complexity and ambiguity to effect positive outcomes and advance organisational objectives
  • Demonstrated ability in providing effective leadership and direction to staff inside and outside direct line management, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture
  • Proven ability in budget management and planning processes with excellent conceptual and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to negotiate and influence to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly proficient oral and written communication skills, appropriate to dealing with stakeholders and supporters across a large complex organisation
  • A high level of drive and initiative with an ability to formulate, develop and implement ideas to achieve objectives and manage competing tasks with deadlines
