Student Engagement Lead

  • Lead and manage informal learning spaces, support student teams and clubs, and mentor student guides to enhance their development. Ensure the effective use of spaces and align activities with Faculty goals.
  • Drive student engagement and leadership in a hands-on, dynamic environment. Shape the student experience through innovative space management and direct mentorship.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate leader to make a direct impact on student development and engagement. You will have the chance to mentor and guide students, manage innovative learning spaces, and shape the student experience within a collaborative and supportive environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and mentoring student guides, overseeing their performance and professional development, including budget and procurement management.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of student learning spaces, ensuring optimal use, equipment maintenance, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Supporting student teams, clubs, and capstone projects by guiding their activities and aligning their goals with the Faculty’s vision.
  • Collaborating with the Infrastructure Project team to implement a Student Experience Plan, enhancing student engagement and addressing challenges.

Who We Are Looking For
We’re looking for individuals who demonstrate strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to fostering positive relationships while being motivated by the opportunity to support and inspire students.

You will also have:

  • A relevant degree or trade, or equivalent experience and training.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Proven experience managing day-to-day activities of a small team to deliver quality services. 
  • Knowledge of Australian OHS legislation and experience monitoring requirements in multidisciplinary laboratories.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
