ServiceNow Developer

About the Role
Working under the guidance of the ServiceNow Technical Lead and as part of a Scrum team, this role involves estimating work effort, designing and developing ServiceNow applications, maintaining the platform, and supporting all ServiceNow applications, including custom extensions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing assigned ServiceNow development and support tasks, including triage, analysis, service restoration, request fulfilment, defect resolution, and enhancements, in line with documented service level agreements.
  • Overseeing ServiceNow upgrades, releases, patches, and hotfixes across production and non-production environments, following SDLC best practices to maintain controlled, auditable development and testing processes.
  • Delivering platform and application monitoring, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve high client satisfaction KPIs.


Who we are looking for
We’re looking for people who will effectively work closely with the Scrum team, the ServiceNow Solutions group, and wider University teams to plan, architect, design, and develop complex applications on the ServiceNow platform.

You will also have:

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer with an appropriate tertiary qualification and/or equivalent mix of education/training and relevant experience.
  • Strong functional and technical expertise in the ServiceNow platform, with experience in delivering large-scale ServiceNow implementations.
  • Extensive development experience within large organisations.
  • Proven skills in creating business rules, UI actions, form sections, notification events, and client scripts (JavaScript), including AngularJS, on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Comprehensive experience in enterprise application development, encompassing analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, and support, with a thorough understanding of the SDLC.
  • In-depth knowledge of system design and development within Service-Oriented Architecture, including web services integration using XML, REST, SPML, SOAP, and HTML.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
