Your responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to an open, inclusive, and welcoming University environment, whilst managing the delivery of Core Services to achieve optimal outcomes for all users of the Maker Spaces.
- Engage all users with respect, professionalism, and a willingness to share your expertise within a teaching & learning support environment
- In collaboration with the Machine Workshop Coordinator and Lead Technician, develop and update equipment operation procedures as required.
- Ensure practice of and adherence to established OHS and safety protocols. Report to the Machine Workshop Coordinator any issues or changes required to processes and protocols to continually improve safety practices.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a motivated and skilled fabrication expert with hands-on experience using woodworking equipment. Additional experience with metalworking machinery and computer controlled tools like CNC routers and 3D printers is also desirable. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with strong communication and customer service skills, capable of supporting a diverse community of students and staff. They should be self-motivated, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to an inclusive and innovative environment.
You will also have:
- A relevant qualification with experience in fabrication, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated interest and experience working with wood working equipment. Experience with metal working and/or computer-controlled fabrication equipment like 3D printers and CNC routers is also desirable.
- Experience supervising students in a workshop environment.
- The ability to investigate and rectify faults with relevant equipment.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
