About the Role
As the Social Media Coordinator (China), you will work with stakeholders across the China office and the University under the direction of the Social Media Lead (Organic Channels), to effectively coordinate and moderate the Chinese social media function to communicate with both broad and targeted audiences on Weibo, WeChat, Douyin and Red and other Chinese social media channels as required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to the success of integrated marketing and communications campaigns working with colleagues across Communications and Marketing including media, advertising, events, content, multimedia to support our objectives across teaching & learning, research and student recruitment.
- Produce video content for social media through storyboarding, filming and editing.
- Develop and maintain a cohort of Chinese social media student ambassadors.
- Support key relevant days of significance in the yearly calendar (i.e. Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Moon festival) .
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a motivated self-starter with high attention to detail who can operate with independence in an ambiguous, rapidly changing operating environment and has experience in stakeholder engagement and reputation management. You will strive off creativity and can effectively challenge the status quo to deliver to effective business outcomes. You can successfully build and maintain durable rapport with various stakeholders from all diverse areas. You will enthusiastically work to a high ethical standard and can constitute professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
You will also have:
- Some work experience within relevant marketing and communications field and tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, finance, business or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
- Fluent in Chinese written and verbal communications
- Strong experience in content production for social media, with the ability to work independently to coordinate, film and execute videos end to end with a high level of autonomy.
- Demonstrated experience in managing Chinese social media channels

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
