About the Role
The Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth and strategic partnerships. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, this role will identify and pursue funding, revenue, and collaboration opportunities to expand AURIN’s reach and impact. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and relationship management skills to support research translation, negotiate agreements, and enhance AURIN’s business capabilities in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Support the Head of Business Development with the design, development, and engagement of innovative partnership opportunities in areas of strategic priority for AURIN.
- Establish a deep knowledge of AURIN’s capability and the capability of its partners to facilitate and broker strategically aligned opportunities.
- Support the effective management and curation of AURIN and its partners’ intellectual property portfolio in line with AURIN’s research translation and commercialisation strategies and intellectual property plans.
Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will be an exceptional relationship manager with strong communication, persuasion, and facilitation skills, adept at building and maintaining productive stakeholder partnerships. They will thrive in dynamic and complex environments, demonstrating a proactive and results-driven approach to account management, strategic engagement, and effectively managing contractual relationships.
You will also have:
- Demonstrated experience in achieving results and facilitating outcomes within existing relationships.
- Demonstrated knowledge and capacity to manage contractual relationships and obligations including management of IP.
- Demonstrated capacity to work in a challenging, dynamic and complex environment.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
