About the Role
The Centre for Digital Transformation of Health is seeking a creative and collaborative Learning Designer to develop interactive and engaging learning materials for healthcare and IT students and professionals. As part of the award-winning Education and Workforce Development team, you will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design high-quality digital health courses, ensuring they align with national workforce priorities. This role requires expertise in instructional design, Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) development, and multimedia content creation, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative education and training programs in the rapidly evolving field of digital health.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the iterative design and development of new curricula, advising on appropriate instructional and learning design.
  • Write, storyboard, and develop multimedia graphics and interactive learning materials for modules to be built in Canvas.
  • Collaborate on builds with the Lead, SMEs and education team, to develop course content.

Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to develop high-quality, engaging learning experiences. They will demonstrate excellent organisational and project management abilities, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and ensuring alignment with educational best practices. With a proactive and problem-solving mindset, they will adapt to change, manage challenges effectively, and apply creative thinking to enhance learning outcomes.

You will also have:

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification with substantial relevant experience/training in: Education, Instructional/Learning Design, Education Technology or a related field. A degree or certification in education design is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a learning designer and development specialist, with a focus on online LMSs (eg.Canvas) and the production of high quality, engaging multimedia content, in a tertiary setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in applied educational design of curriculum-based, high quality learning resources and experiences for diverse interprofessional adult learners. Healthcare, Health Science or IT education related experience would be highly regarded.
  • Proven ability to effectively use established models of evidence based pedagogical design principles and educational frameworks, to ensure alignment of learning objectives, curriculum, activities and assessment.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
