This position is a professional development opportunity for University of Melbourne staff. Only current Continuing, Fixed-Term, and Casual staff are eligible to apply. About the Role
As the Project Support Lead at Melbourne Professional Education (MPE), you will drive the successful delivery of academic, technical, and administrative projects. Managing the entire project lifecycle—from initial scoping to evaluation—you will ensure high-quality outcomes in educational development and delivery.
In this role, you will also mentor and coach your team, providing feedback and training to enhance individual and team performance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Project Leadership: Manage educational delivery projects, coordinating with stakeholders to achieve high-quality outcomes.
- Team Development: Mentor and coach a team of Admin and Event Support Officers and an Operations Support Coordinator, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Operational Excellence: Lead overall operations, aligning with MPE and University strategies while ensuring compliance and quality standards.
- Stakeholder Management: Implement clear communication strategies and maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners.

You have relevant experience in project coordination or educational development, coupled with a passion for nurturing talent and driving operational excellence.
You will also:
- Excel in independent project management, including scope development and budget planning.
- Have a proven track record in coaching and mentoring team members.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Possess highly developed organisational skills and adaptability in a changing environment.
- Show proficiency in problem-solving and creative thinking within established timelines.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
