The Designing Learning Spaces for Diversity, Inclusion and Participation ARC Linkage Project (2024 – 2027) is investigating how improved school design could play a major role in supporting more inclusive education and better outcomes for students with disability. About the Research
The mixed reality co-design and testing research strand will develop a mixed reality (i.e., augmented reality/virtual reality) interface to support architects in working more effectively with key stakeholders (e.g., people with disabilities, carers and families, school communities, education departments) when designing inclusive learning spaces. The investigation and development of design personas that draw on datasets and affordances will be an important aspect of this element of the larger research project.

Desirable skills and interests: 

  • Prior experience with BIM and/or mixed reality technology and associated platforms or ecologies.
  • Basic programming knowledge in C# and Machine Learning.
  • Digital skills in 3-dimensional modelling and representation.
