We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team, responsible for supporting the planning, design, and delivery of minor capital projects for a key water authority client across metropolitan Melbourne. This role will involve providing technical engineering expertise, assisting with project execution, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards.
This permanent, full-time position is based in Bangholme (VIC) and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and efficiency of a critical water infrastructure network, while developing your career in the water and utilities sector.

Through your engineering expertise, your key responsibilities will be:
- Support the planning, design, and execution of minor capital projects, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications, budget, and timelines.
- Assist in developing detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and successful execution.
- Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring adherence to engineering, quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Identify and manage project risks, and proactively resolve any issues that arise during execution.
- Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of all project documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with integrating engineering tools and digital solutions to streamline project delivery and reporting.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a solid background in engineering, with experience in supporting the delivery of minor capital projects, preferably within the water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors. You will be a detail-oriented problem solver, capable of effectively managing multiple priorities and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:
- A degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field).
- Experience in assisting with the delivery of minor capital projects, including planning, design, and execution.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency with engineering and project management software and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with teams and external stakeholders effectively.
