About Position
A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Project Engineer to join Programmed, working on our prestigious Sydney Water contract. This excellent opportunity will be accountable for providing project management support to satisfy the operational objectives of our stakeholders, ensuring that deliverables are on time, to budget and within technical and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water contributing to the successful delivery of water-related infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager with delivering projects and assist in the coordination of scoping, design, construction, commissioning, handover and the close-out of projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams (design, construction, procurement) to gather required information and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Plan, allocate and coordinate tasks according to an approved program of work.
- Ensure the project works are carried out within contractual timeframes and specifications.
- Report on project outcomes and prepare progress reports.
- Provide technical assistance on projects by working with design consultants, contractors and suppliers in the delivery of works.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and subcontractors, to clarify project scope and requirements.
- Maintain and build strong client relationships.
Key Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience as a Project Engineer within the construction or utilities industry with excellent attention to detail and a knack for people engagement. Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:
- Qualification in Engineering – Electrical or Mechanical preferred
- Demonstrated experience in minor capital project work
- Demonstrate a proactive approach in the workplace
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on effective stakeholder engagement
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
- Experience leading and managing projects showcasing the ability to plan, coordinate and execute
- Strong analytical skills and willingness to contribute to decision-making processes
