About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for reliable and hardworking Civil Maintenance Operators to join our team in Bangholme (VIC). In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out civil maintenance tasks across the sewer network infrastructure in metropolitan Melbourne. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out general civil maintenance activities across the sewer network.
  • Operate heavy machinery and equipment safely, such as Forklifts, Vacuum Trucks, jet trucks, NDD digging, high flow pumps and high pressure water jetting to clean
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair to the Eastern Treatment Plant civil infrastructure, including Fencing, pot hole and road repairs, erecting signs, painting and cleaning duties as well as escorting sub-contractors around the site.
  • Perform routine inspections and repairs to ensure civil infrastructure is in good working condition.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed in accordance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with Mechanical fitters, Electricians, other team members and contractors to complete projects efficiently.
  • Complete required documentation and reports on work performed.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have experience in civil maintenance, or similar roles. Experience or understanding of sewer network infrastructure is also advantageous. You enjoy working in a team and are keen to take on a hands-on role that allows you to develop your skills further.

Additionally, you will have:

• Experience in civil maintenance, ideally with a focus on sewer infrastructure or utilities.
• Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
• A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude and a willingness to learn.
• A commitment to safety and a track record of following safety guidelines.
