About The Opportunity
Programmed is looking for a focused and energetic individual to join our grounds maintenance team as a Team Leader in Burswood to support and add to our existing team. This is more than just a job, It’s a long-term career opportunity with stability, growth, and plenty of perks.
Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will be responsible for the onsite implementation of grounds maintenance at a customer site. The role involves project planning, work scheduling, on-site supervision of employees and contractors and auditing the delivery of work on time with quality outcomes in a cost-effective and safe manner.
This is a Full-time position working Monday to Friday, with the option for Overtime hours on the weekend.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supervising a team of horticultural workers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Coordinating daily work schedules and allocating tasks based on team members' skills and experience
- Promoting a positive and collaborative team environment, fostering open communication and teamwork
- Monitoring team performance and providing constructive feedback to help team members grow professionally
- Managing weed and pest control, including spraying and manual weeding
- Performing essential horticultural tasks such as formative pruning, hedging, mulching, and planting
- Operating commercial small plant equipment for horticultural tasks
- Utilizing technology to report on assets during scheduled maintenance visits
- Ensuring all work sites are maintained and presented to a high standard, while adhering to occupational health and safety protocols
About You
- Minimum Certificate III in Horticulture
- Demonstrated experience in grounds and public open space maintenance
- Experience in leading a horticultural / gardening team
- Experience in Irrigation
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- A clear commitment and understanding of Quality and Health, Safety and Environment systems
- BWTM ticket
- Current Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card)
- A current driver’s license
