About The Opportunity

Programmed Electrical Technologies currently has a great opportunity due to an expanding workload for a hands-on Electrical & Communication Technician to join our NSW team. Working on predominantly government and Defense sites, you will be responsible for general electrical services across the projects including fit-out installation work, fault finding, switchboard servicing, light installation and upgrades. Due to the nature of the projects, having communications endorsements and experience would also be highly regarded.

Nature of position: Full-Time

Location: Central Coast (Newcastle & Sydney travel)

Key Responsibilities

  • Fiber optic cabling and structured cabling installation, termination and fit offs.
  • Communications rack set up and installations.
  • Installation, termination, and fit off of electrical infrastructure and apparatus
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and system upgrades to enhance performance.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their electrical and communication cabling needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Document all installation, maintenance, and repair activities accurately and comprehensively.
  • Adhere to industry standards and safety regulations in all tasks.

 

About You

To join our team, you will have an open registration cabling license with a passion to provide quality work and a strong commitment to the safety of yourself and others. Additionally, you will have;

  • Electrical license or ACMA license is mandatory
  • Certificate III in telecommunications is desirable
  • Experience in defense or commercial installations
  • Defense clearance is highly regarded
  • Current driver's license
  • Demonstrate a professional approach to the workplace
  • Execute work that is of a high standard
  • A strong commitment to and understanding of quality, environmental, occupational health and safety management systems.
