Project Engineer, Programmed Facility Management – Minor Capital Delivery Team
We’re looking for a motivated and highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team, responsible for supporting the planning, design, and delivery of minor capital projects for a key water authority client across metropolitan Melbourne. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in planning, executing, and overseeing minor capital projects that enhance the safety and performance of some of Melbourne’s most critical assets.
This permanent, full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and efficiency of a critical sewerage infrastructure network, while developing your career in the water and utilities sector.
About the Role
As a Project Engineer, you will partner with a diverse team of professionals to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your engineering acumen while actively managing the technical aspects required for successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans including cost estimation, schedule management, and risk assessment to facilitate smooth project delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal teams, external contractors, and key stakeholders to communicate progress, resolve issues, and ensure all parties are aligned toward project objectives.
- Project Control: Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring adherence to engineering, quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Documentation and Compliance: Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of all project documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks and proactively resolve any issues that arise during execution.
- Quality & Safety: Uphold safety systems and quality standards throughout project execution and ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
About You
You have:
- Tertiary qualification in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in delivering minor capital projects, ideally within industries such as water, infrastructure, or municipal services.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders effectively.
- A growth mindset. You are a detail-oriented problem solver, resilient under pressure, and able to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
