About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Facility Manager to join our team, responsible for overseeing the delivery of all planned and reactive maintenance services for a critical facility management contract. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic team focused on ensuring the seamless operation of maintenance services for a high-security correctional facility, dedicated to supporting prisoner health, rehabilitation, and safer communities. Your role will be essential in maintaining both preventative and reactive maintenance across the facility, ensuring operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with all contractual, financial, and safety requirements.

This permanent, full-time role is based in Gatton (QLD) and offers the chance to lead and manage maintenance operations within a high-security environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the delivery of all planned and reactive maintenance services across the facility.
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance tasks to ensure minimal disruption to facility operations.
  • Manage team of maintenance staff, including plumbers, electricians, and handypersons.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and health regulations across the facility.
  • Manage maintenance records, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting for all services provided.
  • Lead fault-finding efforts and troubleshoot maintenance issues promptly to avoid operational downtime.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet service delivery objectives and KPIs.
  • Implement continuous improvements to optimise the efficiency of maintenance operations.
  • Follow strict safety protocols and within a high-security facility environment.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have experience in managing facility maintenance operations, ideally in a corrections or other industrial setting. You will have a strong focus on preventative and corrective maintenance and a commitment to delivering high-quality work while ensuring safety and operational efficiency. Additionally, you will possess the following:

  • Previous experience in facility management or a maintenance management role.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
  • A solid understanding of preventative and reactive maintenance processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
  • A strong commitment to safety and compliance with OH&S regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results on time.
  • Experience with maintenance management software or systems is a plus.
  • A proactive approach and a passion for operational excellence.
