About The Opportunity  

A fantastic opportunity exists for a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team, This position is responsible for leading and coordinating the preparation of comprehensive tender documentation through to the delivery of medium to low-risk capital work projects for a key water authority client - Melbourne Water across metropolitan Melbourne.

This includes defining technical requirements, preparing specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align the scope, schedule, and budget. This permanent, full-time position is based predominantly in Frankston and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and efficiency of a critical water infrastructure network, while developing your career in the water and utilities sector

Key Responsibilities  

  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of comprehensive tender documentation for assigned projects.
  • Develop and compile the technical scope of work, project specifications, and drawings.
  • Plan, allocate and coordinate tasks according to an approved program of work.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and successful execution
  • Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring adherence to engineering, quality, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Identify and manage project risks, and proactively resolve any issues that arise during execution
  • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of all project documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain and build strong client relationships.

 
About You  

To be successful in this role, you will have a solid background in engineering, with experience in supporting the delivery of capital projects, preferably within the water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors with excellent attention to detail and a knack for people engagement. Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:

  • Qualification in Engineering – mechanical preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in capital projects, including planning, design, and execution
  • Proficiency with engineering and project management software and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on effective stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with teams and external stakeholders effectively
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and compliance in all engineering activities
