About The Opportunity

Programmed Facility Management are seeking a Maintenance General Trade to join our Port Hedland team. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of an essential team that provides maintenance services to over 18,000 public housing dwellings for the Department of Communities, including Aboriginal communities in remote locations throughout the State.

  

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Branch Supervisor, the Maintenance General Trade will be responsible for the timely completion of general and reactive maintenance on our Housing contract across Port Hedland. 

Desirable experience:

  • Complete a range of general maintenance works across residential properties that could include:
    • General maintenance carpentry, including adjustments and repairs to doors, walls, windows, trims, fixtures and fittings
    • Basic cabinetry maintenance, including minor adjustments and repairs
    • Fencing, clothesline, and letterbox repairs
    • Minor vinyl floor tile repairs
    • Minor ceramic tile repairs and patching
    • General painting and touch-up works
  • Use hand tools, equipment, and power tools appropriate to the task
  • Maintain a flexible approach to wider general maintenance duties as required
  • Work independently and alongside qualified trades when required
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment at all times

 

About You

To join our team, you will be an experienced Maintenance General Trade who has experience in a domestic or commercial environment, has excellent attention to detail and a strength for delivering a high quality service without compromise. The incumbent is a key person within the Team, promoting staff morale while displaying a “can do” and “Team Player” attitude. Additionally, you will provide first-class customer service whilst maintaining a commitment to the safety of yourself and others at all times.

Additionally, you will possess:

  • Construction White Card (mandatory)  
  • Demonstrated experience in Tiling, Painting or general handyman experience would be preferred
  • VALID C Class (mandatory)
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Ability to pass comprehensive (Client) Pre-Employment Medical including Instant Drug and Alcohol Screening
  • Ability to pass a satisfactory National Police Check
  • Trade based competencies (desirable)
