Position Title: Business Analyst

Job Summary

The Business Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions by gathering, analysing, and documenting requirements for IT initiatives. This role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate requirements into functional specifications for technical teams. The IT Business Analyst plays a key role in ensuring that IT projects deliver value, align with business objectives, and meet user needs.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

• Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and validate business and system requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and process mapping sessions to capture current and future state workflows.
• Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements for IT solutions.

Solution Design & Documentation

• Collaborate with architects, developers, and project teams to design solutions that meet requirements and align with IT standards.
• Produce clear and concise documentation, including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, and process flows.
• Support the creation of test cases and assist in user acceptance testing (UAT).

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Act as a liaison between business units, IT teams, and vendors to ensure shared understanding of requirements and project objectives.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring requirements are prioritised and changes are clearly communicated.
• Provide regular status updates and reports on requirement-related activities.

Process Improvement & Change Support

• Analyse existing processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements supported by technology solutions.
• Assist in change impact analysis and contribute to change management activities.
• Ensure solutions are aligned with organisational strategy, compliance obligations, and technology governance frameworks.

Quality Assurance & Delivery Support

• Validate deliverables to ensure they meet business needs and quality standards.
• Support defect triage and resolution processes during testing phases.
• Assist in post-implementation reviews to measure benefits and identify opportunities for optimisation.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in IT projects.
• Strong understanding of business process modelling, requirements elicitation techniques, and documentation standards.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid).
• Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Relevant certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or Agile BA certifications would be advantages.
